Toxic groundwater has recently become front page news again in Bendigo... well, page 3 news in the Bendigo Advertiser. Seems a toxic concoction of arsenic, salts, sulphur and metals "such as manganese" is going to be rising to the surface in the middle of town early next year. It could poison people.
The answer?
Pump it into a leaky evaporation pond, of course. That's what we do with toxic groundwater in Bendigo. With the EPA's approval of course!
And, as we have indicated, there are going to be more of these monstrosities across the Bendigo region. Unless something else is done. Or at least considered.
You can read all about the problems with the Central Deborah gold mine in the article from 15 November.
We've provided the other, what we feel are very informative, contextual pieces to show you how these things have developed over the past few years and why the poor people of Woodvale are in the news again trying to stop the regulators from poisoning them...
An interesting series of reads.

This is a pro-regulation blog. We are not anti-mining. This is not an anti-Mandalay Resources blog.
