The good intentions are laudable and the sooner this gets put into place the sooner issues in Costerfield will start to be addressed.
But it better happen soon because responsible and prudent water usage and the equitable balancing of "mineral extraction, the agricultural sector and the environment in the regulation of mineral exploration and mining and extractive industry operations" is on a knife's edge in Costerfield.
We don't want to fight another government, Mr Andrews... but we will.
Hurry up, Mr Andrews!
"Ensure that measures are in place to protect groundwater from contamination from mining and extractive industries."
"Ensure groundwater harvesting is sustainable and does not exceed recharge rates or adversely affect stream flow of surface water or wetlands."
An effective EPA... oh that'd be great!
Hurry up, Mr Andrews!
